Man arrested in Glasgow gang police operation

A man accused of being involved in serious organised crime has been arrested in Glasgow, with another man being arrested for conspiracy to murder.

It is understood that Steven Daniel, who is also known as “Bonzo”, was one of two men arrested in the north of Glasgow as part of a police operation on Wednesday morning.

The 46-year-old was arrested in connection with serious and organised crime, firearms and drugs offences.

A 39-year-old man was also arrested for the same type of offences as well as conspiracy to murder.

The arrests were carried out by Police Scotland’s organised crime and counter terrorism unit, who attended two properties in Glasgow at 6am on Wednesday.

Assistant Chief Constable David Ferry said: “The chief constable has made it clear that those intent on being involved in serious and organised crime will be brought to justice.

“This enforcement action underlines that commitment.

“We will continue to take strong action and to use every tool and tactic available to relentlessly pursue those involved in serious criminality who seek to profit from the harm and misery they cause to communities in Scotland.

“We do need the support of our communities to do this. Anyone with information about serious and organised crime is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101.
