A Glasgow man once caught with a drugs haul at his parents' home was found with a cannabis farm 'project' in the garden shed.

Lewis Holmes, 24, was spotted by police in the rear of the property in Glasgow's Pollok on May 24 2024.

Officers went on to discover an extractor fan outside of the shed which led to the discovery of 20 cannabis plants.

Holmes is currently tagged for 12 months after he pleaded guilty in June this year to being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

He had been initially joined in the dock by dad George Holmes Sr, 65, mum Nannet Holmes, 63 and 25-year-old brother George Jr.

They had their not guilty pleas accepted by the Crown.

Holmes was responsible for more than £25,000 of cannabis and cocaine found at the family home.

Officers also seized £5,000 in cash and recovered a string of drug paraphernalia.

Holmes pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to his latest charge of producing cannabis.

The court heard today that lawyers executed a drugs warrant and found Holmes in the back garden.

Prosecutor Ross Canning said: "Officers spoke to him and made him aware of he warrant.

"Outside of the shed was an extractor fan.

"The shed was searched and within were 20 cannabis plants, a number of fans and other drug paraphernalia linked to the production of cannabis."

Mr Canning stated that the total value of the cannabis seized was £4,000.

Garvey McArdle, defending, told the sentencing: "He embarked on this project as he sees it.

"It is clear that he has to face the music."

Sheriff Mary Shields ordered Holmes to do 180 hours of unpaid work.
