Five year old girl injured in Kilmarnock hit and run

Police are appealing for information after the crash

A five year old girl has been injured in a hit and run outside Kilmarnock Cemetery.

Police were called to Grassyards Road at around 11.20am on Saturday 7 March, where the girl had been injured outside the front gate to the cemetery.

She was taken to hospital for treatment.

A blue car initially stopped at the scene but left prior to police arrival.

Police appeal

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to trace the driver involved.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV that could assist to get in touch.”
