The loved ones of a murdered Motherwell man say his baby son will never know how much he was loved.

Jordan Gray was found dead with bulletin wounds around his chest in his own home on Sunday December 14 last year.

Officers are yet to catch the person responsible and are stepping up their enquiries .

Speaking to the press earlier, Jordan’s stepfather, said: “We are here today to appeal for any information leading to finding out who murdered our son in cold blood.

“The outpouring of love we have has since Jordan’s death is testament to the fact that he was a well-liked young man and, yet someone stole him from us.

“We are devastated by our loss. His sisters and wee brother are struggling to understand how someone could do this to their big brother. Jordan’s baby will have to grow up without knowing how much his dad loved him.

“We would like to thank the police for their continued support, and ask that if anyone knows anything about what happened to Jordan – no matter how small – that you come forward and speak to the police.

“Help us stop them from doing this to someone else and leaving another family heartbroken.”

Police have reviewed over 1,200 hours of CCTV footage, knocked hundreds of doors and sent out 88 letters asking for more information.

Detective Superintendent Grant Hendy said: There’s also ongoing forensic analysis and other investigative opportunities in the background which aren’t visible to the public.

"Be reassured, we’re doing everything we can to trace whoever is responsible for Jordan’s death.

“I would like to thank the local community and wider public for their continued support. The information we’ve received and engagement with officers is much appreciated.

"We do still have an increased police presence in the area and anyone with information or concerns can speak to officers.

“Enquiries continue to identify a person seen on Shields Court around 10.35pm on Sunday, 14 December wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.

"If you know who this was, or think the description matches you, please come forward even if it’s just so we can eliminate you from our enquiries."
