E-bike rider fighting for his life as crash also leaves two women injured

A collision involving an illegal e-bike and pedestrians in Renfrew has left the rider in a 'critical condition' and two women hospitalised.
Emergency services were called out to Inchinnan Road earlier today at around 2.25pm.
The male rider of the bike was taken to hospital, police say medical staff describe his condition as "critical"
Two women, aged 69, were also injured in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.
Police Scotland have outlined how enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: "Around 2.25pm on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, police received a report of a crash involving an illegal e-bike and pedestrians on Inchinnan Road, Renfrew.
"Emergency services attended and the male rider of the e-bike was taken to hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
"Two female pedestrians, aged 69, were also injured and taken to hospital.
"The road was closed to allow for collision investigation to take place and enquiries are ongoing."
