Police step up patrols in Govan after crossbow fired at property
Officers say the incident was a targeted attack in Plenshin Court
Police in Govan are investigating after a crossbow was fired at the window of a property in Priesthill.
It happened in Plenshin Court at around 7.10 pm on Sunday, 18th January 2026.
Detectives believe the attack was targeted - thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Officers attended and searched the area but were unable to trace anyone, and enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Colin Murphy said: “We believe that this was a targeted attack at this property and thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless behaviour.
“Our enquiries so far have revealed that a group of youths were involved in a disturbance in the Plenshin Court area prior to the crossbow having been discharged and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this disturbance or seen anyone making off after the crossbow was discharged.
“Anyone who has captured the disturbance or the crossbow discharge on dashcam or CCTV footage is also asked to contact police immediately.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns should speak to the officers.”
Detectives have asked anyone with information to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 2420 of 18th January 2026.
