Body found in River Clyde in search for missing busker, Lewis Cuthbert

A body has been found in the River Clyde in the search for a missing busker from South Lanarkshire.

Around 11am on Tuesday, 4 November, 2025, police were made aware of the body of a man being recovered from the water, near the Pacific Quay area of Glasgow.

Officers have said that formal identification is yet to take place, but that the family of Lewis Cuthbert have been made aware.

The 25-year-old was last seen around 4pm on Monday, 4 August, 2025 in the Lesmahagow Road area of Strathaven.

Lewis was known to busk in Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres and was believed to have been wearing a brown cord jacket with sheepskin collar when last seen and carrying a backpack with Bluetooth speaker and microphone.

A dedicated team of officers worked for months to trace Lewis, including trawling CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door enquiries.

Local officers they were supported by national resources, including specialist search teams, drones from the air support unit, as well as officers searching on quad bikes.

Police have not disclosed the circumstances of the death, but have said enquiries are ongoing.
