Love Island bosses share update about postponed All Stars series
Bosses have released a statement
Last updated 14th Jan 2026
Love Island: All Stars was due to begin its third series on Monday 12th January, but bosses were forced to postpone the launch show due to the ongoing wildfires in South Africa.
After postponing the show, ITV/STV bosses have now provided another update, and now a date has been set.
Why was Love Island postponed?
Host Maya Jama and this year's Islanders were due to begin filming on Saturday 10th January, in scenes which would be shown during Monday night's (12th January) launch show.
However, due to the ongoing wildfires in the area, bosses chose to halt production, making the decision to postpone the launch show date.
ITV/STV confirmed the news on social media on Saturday afternoon (10th January), posting a statement.
The statement read: 'Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed.
'Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed.'
On Monday 12th, a further update was released, reading: 'Just a reminder that the Love Island launch show has been delayed due to wild fires near the Villa in South Africa.
'Everyone is safe though and were working on bringing you an iconic series, so keep an eye on our socials and we'll let you know the new launch date as soon as we can'.
When will it be on TV?
Bosses have now confirmed the series will begin on Thursday 15th January at 9pm.
News was announced back in 2025 that the show would return for an extended third series, airing for six weeks instead of five.
Mike Spencer-Hayter, Creative Director, Lifted Entertainment, said at the time “Love Island: All Stars has quickly established itself as a stand-alone hit, keeping fans of the show gripped by iconic Islanders from the past 10 years returning for another chance to find love. We are very excited about series 3 and you can expect the twists and turns to continue in All Stars, after an incredible smash hit summer series.”
Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor, Reality at ITV added: “With over 2 billion streams, the Love Island brand continues to thrive, with our All Stars series fast becoming a staple in our reality schedule. We can’t wait to kick start our third series and set about bringing back some of the viewers’ favourite Islanders for another unmissable series.”
Last week, 12 former Islanders were then announced, including the likes of Belle Hassan, Millie Court and Shaq Muhammad.
