A Glee reboot could be on the way with some of the original cast

It was the musical series which took the world by storm when it first aired back in 2009, catapulting the likes of Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Dianne Agron to overnight fame. Now, almost 20 years on from its pilot episode, it sounds like a Glee reboot could be about to happen!

‘Don't Stop Believin'' because Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who is also responsible for the likes of American Horror Story, All's Fair and Netflix’s Monster series, has now revealed he’s FINISHED a script!

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday 23rd September, Ryan teased: “Well, funny you ask, cause I just finished the script an hour ago.

As if that wasn’t enough, Ryan also confirmed he’s already been in touch with 10 original cast members, adding: “So, we have a script. Brad (Falchuk), Ian (Brennan) and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something. I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members. It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”

He later added: “Nobody’s read it, so I don’t know, we’ll see. I vowed to myself that I wanted to write a couple of them to see what people think, particularly the cast, cause we were very close when we were making it.”

First airing in 2009, Glee went on to have six seasons, made up of 121 episodes in total.

The show, which won a number of high-profile awards during its time, was set at the fictional William McKinley High School in Ohio, America, and followed a school glee club called New Directions, which was led by drama teacher Mr Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison).

Covering acapella versions of over 700 of the biggest hits across a number of decades, Glee also welcomed a number of high-profile guest stars, including Demi Lovato, Adam Lambert, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Goldblum, Lindsay Lohan and Whoopi Goldberg to name a few.
