The BBC has teased the future of Beyond Paradise, after the highly-anticipated fourth series landed on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in March 2026.
DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha returned to the idyllic coastal town of Shipton Abbott, juggling married life, a search for a new home and a series of baffling new cases.
From a novelist who predicts their own death to a Dark Morris celebration gone wrong, a missing treasure map and rumours of a vengeful mermaid at sea, the latest run promises more cosy crime with a twist. Now, we have details about the next chapter right here ⤵️.
Is there a fifth season?
According to TV Zone, the BBC has ordered a fifth season of the Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise. Filming is set to start in Devon this July, with the new series expected to air on BBC One in 2027.

What happens in the fourth series?
The official synopsis reads: 'New mysteries and puzzling cases await DI Humphrey Goodman and the team in Shipton Abbott. Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.'
Adding: 'DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever.'

Episode one of season four aired at 8pm on Friday 27th March on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with recurring episodes every week.
It followed the conclusion of the Death in Paradise 2026 season which aired on 30th January.
