Following the first episode over the weekend, of the eagerly-waited two-part special of 24 Hours in Police Custody, fans have been patiently waiting for the next instalment, but when will it air?
After the first episode of 'The Ambush' arrived on Sunday 30th August, it's now been revealed fans will have to wait a whole week, for the concluding part of the two-part special.
Ahead of the first episode, fans flocked to social media to share their excitement at the new series, which 'follows the inside story of the police investigation after a 17 year old boy was left critically injured on the roadside.'
With Channel 4 asking the show's fans: 'Was it a random attack, or something more sinister?'
Although the post didn't feature a video, the pic showed the back of two police officers, walking away from the camera, confirming it will air over the English Bank Holiday weekend.
Since Channel 4 posted the details thousands of fans took to the comments to share their excitement, with one writing: 'Been waiting for another one forever', another said: 'It’s about time, quality tv 📺 viewing this …. 👌🏼'.
A third commented: 'oooo! Another one to schedule in 👀'. (sic)
Following the release of the first episode, Channel 4 then posted another photo, writing: 'When a man agrees to give his girlfriend a late-night lift, he unknowingly becomes caught up in an attempted murder investigation. As detectives trace his car to the scene, he reveals how his girlfriend arranged to meet two teenage boys moments before a violent attack unfolded.'
Which attracted comments such as: 'It was a fantastic episode and i actually felt for him. I think he was trying to do right by her, keeping her safe and off the streets and she used him every which way. 😞' (sic)
Another said: 'These documentaries are always so informative and give a great insight into how our police work and what they have to do.'
What is 24 Hours in Police Custody?
24 Hours in Police Custody first started airing on Channel 4 back in 2014, and mainly follows Bedfordshire Police as they investigate cases in Luton. The show ran for 10 series until 2022, along with several specials in recent years. The most recent shows were aired earlier this year, when five episodes were released between January and April, leaving fans calling for more.

The first part aired at 9pm on Sunday 30th August 2026, the second part will arrive at 9pm on Sunday 6th September.
