Tide Lines return to where it all began ahead of huge headline show

In celebration of their 10-year anniversary, Scottish folk pop band Tide Lines are playing their biggest headline show to date at Glasgow's OVO Hydro in September!

Ahead of the huge show, the band, made up of Robert Robertson, Ross Wilson, Alasdair Turner and Fergus Munro, have completely sold out their special Road to the Hydro tour, returning to the venues and communities that shaped the band's journey over the past decade.

However, don't panic, you can still see the band on further tour dates, taking place in August and September, ahead of their show at the OVO Hydro on 19th September.

Frontman Robert Robertson said: "The Hydro show is all about celebrating the last ten years with our biggest gig yet so it felt right to return to the places that have been part of that story from the very beginning. Lochaber was an amazing place to grow up as a young musician. The encouragement of the local community and our Highland musical culture were really formative influences on me.

"Gigs, concerts and traditional ceilidhs in local halls have always been a big part of the tradition back home so it's going to be magic to take a taste of our Hydro gig to these small halls."

Drummer Gus Munro said: “When I was a wee lad growing up in the Glasgow suburbs, an iconic venue like The Art School was a mythical place “up the town” where the big folk went and magical things could happen. I still feel that sense of excitement whenever I get the chance to perform in the city I grew up in. When Tide Lines self-promoted out first ever Glasgow show in the Art School ten years ago, I don’t think we ever imagined we would be putting on a Hydro show a decade later, so the Art School seems the perfect place to kick off our Road to the Hydro tour and take it back to where it all began.”

Keyboard player Ross Wilson said: "We recorded a lot of these songs in our studio in Bunessan, so taking them back to the place where they were born before heading to the Hydro will be really special. It's a big week at home with the annual football tournament and the local agricultural show, so the whole village seems to be buzzing about having a concert to round off the week. They'll definitely be up for a party on Saturday."

Guitarist Ali Turner said: "Playing an intimate show in the area where I grew up will be really special. Throughout my childhood, a great deal of musical tuition was based in and around Inverness, so it will feel like a full circle moment playing there again on the road to the biggest gig we've ever done."

Tide Lines' gig at OVO Hydro, Glasgow

After dropping their live album '10' in June, celebrations for Tide Lines' 10-year anniversary reach a huge climax on 19th September, when they perform their biggest show yet at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

Tide Lines will be joined by special guests Calum Bowie and Siobhan Miller.
