Salcoats man jailed for life for killing man in Largs
He'll serve at least 25 years before he can apply to be released.
A 31-year-old man is starting a life sentence in jail for killing another man in Largs two years ago.
Jordan Honeyman was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow earlier and will serve a minimum of 25 years before he can apply to be released.
Alan Lawson died in hospital on February 6 2024 after being attacked at a property on Alexander Avenue on February 3.
Officers searched for Honeyman and arrested him before he appeared in court charged with the murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Ally Semple said: “This was a shocking and violent attack which has been devastating for the family and friends of Alan Lawson.
“Honeyman will now face the consequences of his actions.
“While no outcome can truly ease the pain of losing Alan, we hope this conviction and sentencing will bring some comfort to his loved ones.
“I would also like to thank members of the public for their support and assistance at the time of our enquiries.
“Violent incidents such as this are not tolerated in our communities and our officers will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.”
