Pensioner killed in Kilmarnock crash

He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he later died.

A 91-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Kilmarnock yesterday morning.

It happened around 10.25am on Green Street and involved a grey Toyota C-HR GR Sport.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse for treatment, where he later died.

No other injuries were reported.

Sergeant Brian Simpson, of Ayrshire Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to officers to come forward.

“I’d also ask that those with dash-cam footage, review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
