A 33 year old man has been hospitalised after being seriously assaulted in Saltcoats on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened on Old Raise Road, between 1pm and 2pm on 7 March.

Emergency services took him to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.

Police are searching for a man aged between 30 and 35 years old, with brown hair, who was wearing a green jacket and dark trousers.

Detective Constable Fraser Barr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or saw a man matching the description in the area to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV that could assist to get in touch.”
