Ardrossan man to stand trial accused of murdering man in home

An Ardrossan man will stand trial next year accused of murdering a man in his own home.
Terence Welsh, 41, allegedly killed Stuart Kennedy at the flat in Ayrshire on September 10 2024.
Prosecutors claim the 59 year-old was repeatedly struck on the head and body with a knife.
Welsh faces a separate charge of attempting to murder a woman on that date at the same property.
It is claimed she was also struck with a blade, grabbed and pushed out a window causing her to fall to the ground.
The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today/yesterday.
Welsh's lawyer Graeme Brown pled not guilty on his behalf.
The solicitor advocate along with prosecutor Neil McCulloch agreed a trial could be fixed.
Lord Renucci the set a trial which is scheduled to start in August 2026.
The case could last around seven days.
