An Ardrossan man will stand trial next year accused of murdering a man in his own home.

Terence Welsh, 41, allegedly killed Stuart Kennedy at the flat in Ayrshire on September 10 2024.

Prosecutors claim the 59 year-old was repeatedly struck on the head and body with a knife.

Welsh faces a separate charge of attempting to murder a woman on that date at the same property.

It is claimed she was also struck with a blade, grabbed and pushed out a window causing her to fall to the ground.

The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today/yesterday.

Welsh's lawyer Graeme Brown pled not guilty on his behalf.

The solicitor advocate along with prosecutor Neil McCulloch agreed a trial could be fixed.

Lord Renucci the set a trial which is scheduled to start in August 2026.

The case could last around seven days.
