Deliberate building fire causes "considerable damage" in Cumnock

It happened on Kilnholm Place yesterday lunchtime

Officers are appealing for information after a disused building was deliberately set on fire on Kilnholm Place in Cumnock.

The incident was reported around 1.15pm on Wednesday, 12 November. The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.

Detective Sergeant Keith Hyndes said: “Considerable damage was caused and the fire is being treated as wilful.

“Fortunately no one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

“We are asking anyone who saw what happened or who has information that could assist our investigation to get in touch.

“Please check any private CCTV from the area and dash-cam if you were driving to see if anything has been captured that might help.

“A number of youths were seen in the area at the time. Regular patrols are being carried out in the community.”
