Three teenagers have been arrested after a fight in Pontypridd.

Police were called to a group of young people fighting on Taff Street just before 7.55pm on Friday evening.

Two boys aged 14 and 16 have been arrested on suspicion of affray whilst another 16 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.

South Wales Police say efforts to trace any other young people involved are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Helen Coulthard said: “We understand this incident has caused concern among the community. Thanks to the swift response of officers, we very quickly had several suspects in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify any other individuals who may have been involved.

“I would urge parents and guardians to make sure they talk to their teenagers about the danger of getting caught up in incidents of this nature and the possible outcomes they could face if they are found committing any offence.”
