Woman arrested on suspicion of murder after man stabbed in Haydock

A woman is being questioned on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in Haydock, St Helens.

At around 10:25pm on Friday 2 May, Merseyside Police received a report that a man - in his 30s - had been stabbed following an incident inside a flat on Sherlock Avenue.

Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene but the man has since died from his injuries.

A 39-year-old woman from Billinge has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is still in police custody.

Detectives are in the early stages of investigating the incident and enquiries are ongoing, Merseyside Police said.
