Two arrests made following man's sudden death in York
A man died in hospital hours after collapsing late on Friday night
Two people have been arrested after a man who collapsed suddenly in York died.
The 28-year-old was discovered by paramedics at an address on Wood Street in the Heworth area at around 11pm on Friday 25th September 2026.
He died in hospital in the early hours of the following morning.
His family have been informed and are being supported while enquiries continue, according to North Yorkshire Police.
What happened
Paramedics were called to the address after the man was found collapsed.
He was taken to hospital, where he died in the early hours of Saturday 26th September 2026.
The scene remained sealed off until it was closed on Saturday evening.
Two people arrested
On Sunday 27th September 2026, officers arrested a 54-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in connection with the investigation.
North Yorkshire Police said both remain in custody for questioning.
The force said its enquiries into the man's death are ongoing.
