It's A Sin stage show to bring 'love, passion and joy'
The popular Channel 4 drama is to be brought to life through dance, music and huge theatrical ambition
The acclaimed story of "It's A Sin" is set to grace the stage in a modern dance version, capturing hearts with its production of love, passion, and joy.
The dance adaptation arrives following Rambert Dance’s previous success with the Peaky Blinders stage show, and aims to bring the popular Channel 4 show to life with the same theatrical flair.
Show creator Russell T Davies says the production features collaboration with Pet Shop Boys and Mighty Hoopla co-founder Glyn Fussell, promising a blend of dance, music, and theatrical ambition.
For fans of the original series, which was mainly filmed in Manchester the dance adaptation promises to capture the essence of the story through dynamic performances backed by music.
The news comes just days after the launch of the Doctor Who showrunner's new series - Tip Toe - which premiered also on Channel 4 over the weekend.
Speaking to us at the launch at Manchester's HOME Cinema last week, he described the city as the 'centre of the world'.
The LGBT icon said: "I live here, I'm very proud of this city, and we should support this place.
"I've lived here since 1987, it's been my great pride and joy to never have lived in London - and if I can set an example to young people starting out in their career, I should just say that you don't need to move down there.
"You don't need to pay those ridiculous house prices, the price of food... transport...
"You can live in what they call the provinces, but what I call the centre of the world - Manchester - and have a great career."
Tip Tow and It's A Sin aren't the only shows Russell T Davies has created - but, as he told us, the legacy of them all are just as important now as they ever have been.
He added: "It is 27 years since Queer As Folk, and the world has changed - a lot of things have got better, but in some ways, I think the fact that things have got better has been weaponised against us, that our visibility has led to people seeing us more clearly, and expressly not liking us.
"That's what's being discussed in Tip Toe.
"These are problems arising for every community in the country - there's a lot of tension in the air, and there's a lot of anger coming out of that online voice, and it's all on screen."
The stage show of It's A Sin will start in Manchester in February, before heading to Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Truro, and Luxembourg,
