Biscuit boss reveals the 'right' way to eat a chocolate digestive

The boss of a biscuit factory which has been churning out chocolate digestives for the last 100 years says we've apparently all been eating them the wrong way up.

Anthony Coulson, who's a manager at McVities in Stockport, says the teatime favourite was originally designed to be eaten chocolate-covered side down.

Despite that though, Mr Coulson's admitted in an interview with the BBC, that he's chocolate-on-top man.

He said: "It's the world's most incredible debate, whether you have the chocolate on the top or the chocolate on the bottom.

"One of the very first things I learnt when I got to join McVitie's was chocolate side down to eat the digestive.

"Now, up until then, I'd always eaten it the other way round... You can do it exactly how you want to do it."

He's also explained the reason why - in theory it's so the chocolate starts to melt on your tongue as soon as you take a bite so you get the flavour straight away.

So... which way up will you be eating your next chocolate digestive?
