A 19-year-old has died following a fatal road traffic collision that took place earlier this week in Holmfirth.

On the night of 11th February, officers were called to Sheffield Road, Jackson Bridge at 10.11pm, where a silver Skoda Fabia had left the road and crashed into a wall.

A 19-year-old passenger was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries and tragically died yesterday (13 February) from those injuries.

Three 19-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed limit for drugs and causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

They have since been bailed pending further inquiries.

It's believed that the silver Skoda Fabia was travelling in convoy with a white Skoda Fabia and a blue BMW from Langsett Reservoir to Holmfirth at the time of the collision.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit continue to seek information from anyone who witnessed the event or saw the vehicles before the crash.

Authorities also request dash-cam footage that might aid in their investigation.
