Woman, 83, killed after being hit by van on Dundee Road

An elderly pedestrian has died in a crash involving a Transit van.
The 83-year-old woman was walking on Christian Road in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, when she was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Transit.
The woman died at the scene after the incident at about 5.25pm on Saturday. Her next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
The road was closed for six hours while Police Scotland investigations took place.
Sergeant David Farr said: "Our investigation into the crash is ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact officers.
"I'd also ask that those with private CCTV or dashcam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance."
