Man spotted with 'gun' on Dundee street
Police have launched a door to door inquiry over reports of a firearm in the Lochee area
Police are investigating after a man suspected of carrying a gun was seen on a street in Dundee.
He was seen with a weapon st about 9.10am on Tuesday, on the High Street in the Lochee area of the city.
The man is described as being around 5ft 8in, with stubble or a short beard. He was wearing a dark jacket, black hat with a bobble, dark trousers and grey trainers.
Police said extensive inquiries are ongoing, with a review of CCTV and door-to-door inquiries being carried out.
Chief Inspector Colin Echevarria, the local area commander, said: "We understand that reports of this nature can be concerning for the community, and I want to reassure residents that we are carrying out through inquiries to establish exactly what happened.
"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured footage in the area around the time the man was seen. Anyone with dashcam, doorbell footage or private CCTV is asked to come forward."
