The Enchanted Forest is considering an expansion across Scotland.

The popular sound and light show is marking its 25th anniversary year and recently welcomed its millionth visitor to Faskally Wood.

Looking to the future, organisers are in the early stages of discussions on other venues to host the event across the county.

Despite plans to expand, the show will remain in Highland Perthshire.

'All roads lead back to the Enchanted Forrest, our spiritual home at Faskally Wood, every single year'

Gordon Morrison, chief executive of the Enchanted Forest Community Trust, explained the idea, saying: " We've got big plans for the future, in terms of how we grow the Enchanted Forest itself.

"The event in Faskally Wood is huge already and it’s hugely popular. We're not looking to put another 50,000 people into Pitlochry over the month of October. We are very comfortable with the fact that we bring more than 80,000 visitors to the region during the show run.

"Where we see real opportunity going forward is, we think the Enchanted Forest could potentially look at growing in other parts of the country and we're looking at developing experiences of the same high-quality experience in Pitlochry but doing it in other parts of the country. But the crucial point I would make, is with all roads leading back to the Enchanted Forrest, our spiritual home at Faskally Wood, every single year."

'We're not short of people coming to us and asking if it's something we could do for them'

Plans for a potential expansion are at an early stage as discussions are ongoing with a number of local authorities.

Gordon Morrison said: "We are having numerous conversations with a number of different local authorities and also different cultural organisations across Scotland.

"I'm delighted to say, we're not short of people coming to us and asking if it's something we could do for them.

"For us at the moment it's early stage. We're looking at what this could mean for the Enchanted Forrest. We're looking at what this could mean for the charity and we're looking at how we can deliver it with the current resource that we have."
