Elderly woman dies after being hit by car in Dundee
The 77-year-old was struck near the Gallagher Retail Park
An elderly woman has died after being struck by a car near a Dundee retail park.
It happened on East Dock Street near Gallagher Retail Park at around 10.45 yesterday morning when the 77-year-old female pedestrian was hit by a silver Mini Cooper.
She was prounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for accident investigations to take place, but reopened at about 4.30pm.
Constable Christopher McElwee said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died at this difficult time.
“Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our inquiries to come forward.”
