Four baby fallow deer born at Perthshire Zoo
The baby fawns learned to walk within minutes of their birth
Perthshire Zoo is welcoming some new additions following the birth of four baby fallow deer fawns.
The fawns were born weighing around 4.5 kilograms and learned to walk within minutes of their birth.
Featuring distinctive white spots to provide natural camouflage, the new fawns increase the herd to 40 strong.
Jamie Veral, Park Keeper at Perthshire Zoo, said: "Our new fawns have increased our herd to 40 animals, with each one thriving and getting more adventurous every day.
“It’s magical watching the baby fallows discover the new world around them and to be doing it in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. Their arrival during the school holidays gives visitors a fantastic opportunity to spot them exploring in the summer sunshine."
