Three more arrests in Edinburgh and Glasgow crime gangs feud
Police have captured three suspects over fire attacks on properties and vehicles
Three more arrests have been made in the ongoing feud between rival gangs in Edinburgh and Glasgow – bringing the total to 55.
They’re in relation to fire attacks on properties and vehicles.
Yesterday a 38-year-old man was arrested and in connection with wilful fire-raising and firearms offences. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday,
A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection with damage at a property on Walter Scott Avenue in Edinburgh on Thursday, June12 , and a wilful fire-raising at a property on Jackson Way in Tranent on Friday, June 13. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Another 26-year-old man was also charged in connection with two vehicle fires in Port Seton, which occurred on Sunday, 18 May. He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
The feud between rival criminal gangs has resulted in a series of assaults, shootings and firebombings in recent months.
A number of properties were set alight in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas in March before the attacks spread to the west at the beginning of April.
Those injured include a 72-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy, who were assaulted at a house in the Milton area of Glasgow, as well as a 54-year-old man who was seriously injured outside his home in Edinburgh.
