Sam Thompson responds to theories he's behind The Masked Singer's Sloth
Sloth was full of energy!
Last updated 7th Jan 2026
The Masked Singer returned to our screens earlier this month, bringing more wacky characters and setting the Internet alight with theories. But one masked celebrity that fans are 'convinced' they've already worked out is Sloth!
Who is Sloth?
Following his performance of Matthew Wilder's 'Break My Stride' on Sunday 4th January, fans took to social media in their droves to declare the singer was none other than Hits Radio presenter Sam Thompson.
The super sleuths were joined in their theory by Masked Singer judge Maya Jama, who said the jungle references, alarm clock radio and high-energy routine all lead her to believe it was 2023's I'm a Celeb King of the Jungle.
Now Sam has taken to Instagram to respond, sharing a cheeky video of him raising his eyebrows suspiciously, and writing: "Apparently I’m the sloth!"
Fans have been tagging Sam in pictures of Sloth, writing '@samthompsonuk is this you?'. While another wrote: 'Sloth was most definitely giving Sam Thompson energy.'
Other guesses from the judges have included Joe Wicks, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Chris Moyles, while fans watching at home think it could also be Tom Allen, Ben Fogle or Tom Felton.
Check out who has been taking part in The Masked Singer 2026:

British rapper Professor Green was unmasked in the second episode of The Masked Singer 2026. He'd been hidden behind Teabag, trying to hide his recognisable London accent. He said of the judge's guesses: "None of them were anywhere near. I was laughing behind the mask."
Sang: 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' by Deep Blue Something
