Last updated 9th Oct 2026
Ever since her breathtaking rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream' on Britain's Got Talent back in 2009, Susan Boyle's life has changed dramatically, catapulting her to overnight fame and success.
After becoming a viral YouTube sensation, with more than 264 million viewing SUBO's performance, she's since remained in the public eye, rebranding herself with a comeback earlier this year.
To celebrate Susan's amazing career and story, the BBC has now commissioned a special documentary called There's Only One Susan Boyle, which will air over the festive period later this year.
Susan Boyle said of the show: "I'm delighted to be sharing my story in this new documentary with the team at Tern. My life changed overnight after Britain's Got Talent, and it has been an extraordinary and unexpected journey ever since. I hope the programme reminds viewers to stay true to themselves and follow their dreams."
Heather Kane-Darling, Commissioning Editor, BBC Scotland, added: "Susan Boyle's story is one of the most remarkable and uplifting to come out of Scotland in recent decades. From a small town in West Lothian to stages around the world, her journey has inspired millions. This warm, honest and entertaining portrait of a truly unique Scottish talent will be a festive treat for our audiences."
