Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is being turned into a TV series

Believe it or not, it's somehow been nearly 20 years since we were introduced to Georgia (Georgia Groome), Robbie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and Jas (Eleanor Tomlinson), in hit 2008 movie Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

Despite never getting a sequel movie to Louise Rennison's multi-million selling novel, it looks like it's about to be turned into a TV series by Netflix!

Back in July this year, a casting call appeared on social media alongside the words: 'Casting call for a major streaming platform pilot: Angus, thongs and full-frontal snogging'.

It continued: 'TV series pilot based on the worldwide multimillion selling book series: The Confessions of Georgia Nicolson.

'Rachel Sheridan Casting is searching for various female and male roles for the series'. (sic)

Although the advert went on to explain that applicants must be based in the UK and be able to look/play 15 and 16-year-olds, there was later another update due to huge demand.

In a separate post on Monday 6th July, Rachel Sheridan Casting explained: 'PLEASE NOTE THIS CASTING CALL HAS BEEN CLOSED EARLIER THAN PLANNED. DUE TO THE HUGE RESPONSE WE HAVE ALREADY HIT OUR MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR SUBMISSIONS.

'WE CAN NO LONGER RECEIVE SUBMISSIONS FOR THIS CASTING CALL.📣'. (sic)

Is Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging being turned into a TV show?

Yes! After late author Louise Rennison created 10 Confessions of Georgia Nicolson novels, released between 1999 and 2009, the first novel, titled Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, is now being adapted for TV.

According to Variety in October 2026, Netflix has now given a pilot order for Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging.

The publication states the Netflix pilot is being written by Monica Heisey. Sam Leifer serves as executive producer on behalf of Rise Films and Jon Jennings serves as producer, while Rachel Sheridan is the casting director. Jim O'Hanlon is also directing, with production taking place here in the UK.

When is it out?

There's no word on when the TV adaptation will land, but with the show in the early stages, it could be a while yet!

What channel is it on?

If the pilot is a success, Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging will air on Netflix.

Who is in the cast?

The cast hasn't yet been announced.

Will the original cast be back?

Although fans would love to see the likes of Georgia (Georgia Groome), Robbie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and Jas (Eleanor Tomlinson) back for the TV adaptation, we sadly don't know just yet!

Can I apply?

Due to phenomenal demand, the casting closed earlier than planned on Monday 6th July 2026.
