Their 1994 single āLetās Get Ready To Rhumbleā has shifted 46,000 downloads this week and is now a whopping 10,000 copies ahead of second placed āJust Give Me A Reasonā by Pink.
Fans have been buying the track after the Newcastle duo were goaded into performing the track as their alter egos PJ & Duncan on last weekās Saturday Night Takeaway.
Upon its initial release almost two decades ago, the song only peaked at number 9 in the chart. It went on to sell around 130,000 copies.
On Twitter yesterday, Declan wrote on the pairās joint account: āI didn't think this week could get any more nutsā¦.then someone sent me the midweek chart! You're all mad. D x #LetsGetReadyToRhumbleā
He added last night: āThanks for all your tweets today in what has been another strange day in the weirdest week of my life!!ā
Itās also been confirmed that Ant & Dec will be donating all proceeds from sales of the track to the charity Childline.
Ant said: āPeople are still buying the track, so we've just decided that any money we make out of it will be put towards Childline, as we're patrons of that."
