Woman charged with murder following death of man in south London

A 51 year old woman has been charged with murder following the discovery of a man's body in Elephant and Castle.

Police were called to a residential property on Newington Causeway at 14:28hrs on Sunday, 15th March after concerns were raised about the occupants' welfare.

Upon arrival, officers found the body of Henrik Slotsaa, a 52-year-old man.

His next-of-kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Joanna Cierpka, a 51-year-old resident was arrested at the scene and charged with murder on Monday, 16th March.

She is currently in police custody and is set to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17th March.

Detectives say the pair were known to each other, although further details have not been released.

The police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
