Murder investigation launched in west London
A woman in her 40s has died.
A murder investigation is underway in west London following the death of a woman in Fulham.
Emergency services were called to Tyrawley Road, SW6 by the London Ambulance Service at approximately in the early hours of Thursday, April 30th.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman, who was in her 40s, and found with head injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next-of-kin have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
A 45-year-old man, believed to have been known to the woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Investigation proceedings
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have started a murder investigation and those living nearby can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said:
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died.
"We have launched a murder investigation and my detectives will be working round-the-clock to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.
"I would ask that anyone who has information that might be relevant to our enquiries contacts the police."
