Man travelling back from Notting Hill Carnival dies after assault at tube station
The 32 year old has died in hospital.
A 32-year-old man has died in hospital following a serious assault at Liverpool Street Underground station on Sunday night, 30th August.
Emergency services responded to reports of the incident on the eastbound Central Line platform at 10.51pm.
The victim, who was in a critical condition, passed away on 1st September with his family by his side.
Before his death, Jeremiah Maximo, 38, from Barking, was charged with Grievous Bodily Harm in connection to the assault.
Maximo is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today, 2nd September.
British Transport Police detectives plan to alter the charge following the victim's death, with proceedings taking place at a future court date.

BTP Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “First and foremost our thoughts are firmly with loved ones of the young man who has sadly died. They are being supported by specially trained officers as our investigation continues.
“The victim was travelling back from Notting Hill Carnival at the time of the incident, and we continue to appeal to anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police to come forward and assist our investigation.
