Identity of Bletchley murder victim revealed as suspects released
Police continue investigations into Mohammed Tanveerul Islam's death
Police have confirmed the identity of the victim in a murder investigation in Bletchley as 26-year-old Mohammed Tanveerul Islam.
Mohammed was fatally stabbed on Brooklands Road late on Thursday night.
Following extensive investigations, Thames Valley Police have released a 16-year-old from Milton Keynes and a 36-year-old from Aylesbury, who were initially arrested on suspicion of murder.
They are no longer treated as suspects in this case.
A Home Office post-mortem examination conducted yesterday confirmed Mohammed died from a stab wound to his chest.
Detective Superintendent Jon Capps said: “Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mohammed. Our thoughts remain with them at what is an extremely difficult time.
“Following the tragic murder and three arrests on Thursday evening, we have spoken to numerous witnesses, completed a significant amount of house-to-house enquiries and CCTV enquires.
“There are many other developing lines of enquiry and there is a large investigation team working tirelessly to find who is responsible.
"We recognise that this news will be concerning for the community. This remains a complex investigation and we continue to appeal for your help.
"We are appealing this afternoon for any information about a male seen on an e-scooter in the Water Eaton Road area and the wider Central Bletchley area in the late evening on Thursday. The only description we have, at this time, is that the male was wearing dark clothing.
“We would ask anyone who lives in the area with a video doorbell or CCTV, or anyone who was driving in the surrounding area at the time with a dash-cam, to check their recordings in case they captured anything relevant to our investigation and report it to us.
"If you saw something in the surrounding areas, and are not sure whether you should report it, please get in touch. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be helpful for us to understand more about what took place that night.
"You will continue to see an increased police presence in the area. Our officers are there to help, so please do speak with them if you have any concerns or questions."
Milton Keynes Commander Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie said: “We understand this will be concerning for the community but our investigation continues at pace and community safety remains our priority.
“This is a complicated investigation and our detectives continue to work hard to understand the circumstances and, as always, we remain in close contact with the relevant partners.
"We are continuing our fast-moving enquiries to bring those responsible for this tragic murder to justice.”
