The trial of a man accused of multiple stabbings including on a train in Cambridgeshire, has been delayed until later this year.

32-year-old Anthony Williams faces 10 counts of attempted murder following the alleged attack on an LNER train traveling from Doncaster to London on 1st November last year.

Williams was initially set to stand trial on 22nd June at Cambridge Crown Court, but the hearing has been rescheduled to 26th October as additional reports are awaited.

The revised date was set during a hearing at the same court on Tuesday, with Williams excused from attending.

The trial date is contingent upon the availability of a high court judge.

Williams, who declared at an earlier Peterborough Magistrates’ Court hearing that he has no fixed address, is also accused of causing bodily harm to a male police officer while in custody and possessing a knife on 1st November.

Additionally, Williams faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a knife stemming from an incident at Pontoon Dock DLR station in London during the early hours of 1st November, where a victim sustained facial injuries in a knife attack.

The case was previously consolidated with several other charges, forming an indictment totaling 21 counts.

Among these charges are attempted murder of a 14-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man, attempted wounding of a 28-year-old man in Peterborough on 31st October, affray at a barbershop in Peterborough on the same day, and theft of a knife pack from an Asda store in Stevenage.

Williams is further charged with assaulting a man on a King’s Cross to Peterborough train on 1st November and possession of a knife at various public locations in Peterborough on 31st October.

Judge Mark Bishop extended the custody time limits for Williams on Tuesday as he continues to await his rescheduled trial.
