The Rolling Stones confirm they’re hoping to play UK shows in 2018
Two days after unveiling their European ‘Stones - No Filter’ tour, The Rolling Stones have explained why they haven’t announced any UK dates.
In a short statement posted on Twitter, the rock legends explained that due to the tour taking place in the early autumn they were unable to book any suitable stadia due to clashes with sporting events.
It’s not all bad news, however, as the band confirmed they’re hoping to play some dates on home turf next year.
The brief statement reads: “Sorry to our UK fans there are no UK dates on this run due to lack of available venues because of sporting fixtures. Hope to be here in 2018.”

The Rolling Stones’ last UK concert was their second British Summer Time Hyde Park gig on 13th July 2013 as part of their 50 & Counting tour that also included Glastonbury in June 2013 and two nights at The O2 in London in November 2012.
The ‘Stones – No Filter' tour takes in a total of 13 shows in 12 cities this September and October and will feature a brand new production and state of the art stage design.
Alongside classics like ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Jumpin Jack Flash’, ‘Tumbling Dice’ and ‘Brown Sugar’, the band are also including “a couple of unexpected tracks each night and randomly selected surprises from their formidable arsenal of songs.”
Mick Jagger said: “I'm so excited to be touring Europe this autumn and returning to some familiar places and some we've never done before.”
