Judas Priest announce 'Best Of' album and reveal track-listing
It's released ahead of their UK shows this summer
Judas Priest will release a new career-spanning compilation called ‘The Best of Judas Priest’ on Friday 19th June via Sony Music.
The CD version of the album features 16 Judas Priest classics, while the vinyl edition has 10 tracks including ‘Breaking the Law’, ‘You've Got Another Thing Coming’, ‘Electric Eye’, ‘Turbo Lover’ and ‘Painkiller’. Both are available to pre-order here.
The six songs that only feature on the CD edition are ‘Lightning Strike’, ‘Beyond the Realms of Death’, ‘Rocka Rolla’, ‘Night Crawler’, ‘Better by You, Better Than Me’ and ‘Diamonds and Rust’.
While the collection encompasses material from Judas Priest’s 1974 debut ‘Rocka Rolla’ through to 2024’s ‘Invincible Shield’, the Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens fronted albums ‘Jugulator’ and ‘Demolition’ both aren’t represented.
A description of ‘The Best of Judas Priest’ says it ‘offers a strong starting point for new listeners to immerse themselves within Judas Priest’s enduring legacy, as well as a tailored collection for longtime fans to revisit their favourite songs from the global rock legends.’
Way back in 1978, Gull Records released an album called ‘The Best of Judas Priest’ without the band’s blessing. It featured material from Judas Priest’s first two records ‘Rocka Rolla’ and ‘Sad Wings of Destiny’, which were originally released via Gull.
Judas Priest headline Bloodstock in Derbyshire this August and they also play a standalone headline UK show at London Eventim Apollo on Monday 21st September.
