Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators have announced their fifth studio album ‘Flying Blind’ and a summer 2027 UK & Ireland tour.
Released on Friday 12th February 2027 via Gibson Records, ‘Flying Blind’ features 12 songs recorded with longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Florida over the course of just one week.
“It’s a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock ’n’ roll record,” explains Slash. “It’s very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw.”
Emblematic of this spontaneity, lead single and album title track ‘Flying Blind’ was recorded during the pre-production stage as SMKC were getting ready to rehearse.
“Created in the studio while we were standing there in pre-production, a riff came to me and started developing,” says Slash.
Listen to Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators' 'Flying Blind':
“I had nothing of that song prior to those guys coming in, and then we started up a night of rehearsal and played that riff. It came together really quickly. As for it being the first single, you never know what the first single is going to be until you’ve recorded it.
“When I started thinking about it, ‘Flying Blind’ just seemed to have the right kind of melodic sensibilities and a hook to make it single material.”
Vocalist Myles Kennedy adds: “I really enjoyed putting a melody to this song. The way the chord progression starts in the beginning had a nice flow to it. The lyric is about how sometimes people try to take shortcuts and try to find the easy way to achieve happiness or enlightenment.”
Following the release of the album, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators will embark on the Flying Blind World Tour 2027, which kicks off in Chile in April.
Part of a much larger summer European jaunt, the UK & Ireland leg takes in shows at Cardiff Castle, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Dublin Trinity Theatre, Belfast Custom House Square, Halifax Piece Hall and London Eventim Apollo in late June and early July.
Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 9th October.
