German hard rock heroes Scorpions have cancelled their April tour for India at the eleventh hour over ‘unforeseen medical circumstances.’
Scorpions’ first Indian tour in almost two decades was due to open in Shillong on Tuesday night (21st April) and also visit Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai over the next 10 days.
Over the weekend, promoters BookMyShow confirmed that Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine, Matthias Jabs, Pawel Maciwoda and Mikkey Dee won’t be coming to India.
The statement reads: "We regret to inform you that the Scorpions ‘Coming Home’ India tour scheduled in Shillong on April 21st, Delhi-NCR on April 24th, Bengaluru on April 26th and Mumbai on April 30th, stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans. The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule."
Last year, Scorpions were forced to push back their Las Vegas shows by six months as Mikkey Dee needed time to recover from his near-death experience after contracting sepsis over Christmas 2024.
Scorpions’ summer European tour opens in Malta on Tuesday 16th June, and it takes in a series of festivals and arena shows.
