The official trailer has premiered for the upcoming documentary about late-great Rush drummer Neil Peart, No One’s Disciple.
Clocking in at a very fitting 2 minutes and 12 seconds, the trailer opens with Neil Peart performing one of his jaw-dropping drum solos as a newsreader announces his death in January 2020.
As ‘Tom Sawyer’ plays, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson pay homage to their late bandmate before admitting that not paying musical tribute to Neil “weighed” on Geddy “quite a lot.”
We then get to see the tribute as Neil’s “drum brothers” Danny Carey, Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith and Gavin Harrison gather with Geddy and Alex and pay homage and play some songs behind the kit.
Elsewhere, there are great archive interviews with Neil, a clip of Alex confessing “I remember thinking ‘there’s no way this guy’s cool enough to be in our band’” before being blown away by his talents, and current Rush touring drummer Anika Nilles being wowed by Neil’s “brilliant” timing.

Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple will air on CBC Gem in Canada on Wednesday 23rd September 2026.

Rush’s Fifty Something Tour hits the UK in March 2027 for two nights at Glasgow OVO Hydro and Manchester Co-op Live and a three-night residency at London’s The O2.
