Metallica’s seventh studio album ‘ReLoad’ is getting a definitive remastered reissue this summer.
Originally released in November 1997, ‘ReLoad’ has sold more than four million copies in Metallica’s native US and it boasts enduring anthems including ‘Fuel’, ‘The Memory Remains’ and ‘The Unforgiven II’.
Almost three decades on, ReLoad (Remastered) will be released on deluxe boxset, vinyl, 3CD, single CD and cassette formats on Friday 26th June 2026 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. They’re all available to pre-order HERE.
Costing £229.99, the limited-edition deluxe numbered box set (with magnetic flap) of ReLoad (Remastered) features a glut on bonus material including previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, live performances, on-air and television appearances.
Billed as a ‘passionately and thoroughly curated document of 1997-1998 era Metallica', it includes the album remastered on 180-gram double LP and CD, The Memory Remains 7”, three live LPs, 15 CDs and four DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc), and MP3 download card of all audio.
Also in the boxset are three tour laminates, a 11x17 Gimme Fuel poster, a Pushead print, a sticker, 10 guitar/bass picks, a pack of 13 Rorschach Test cards, lyric folder and sheets, and a 128-page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos and stories from those who were there.
To celebrate the announcement, Metallica have shared a live video for ‘The Memory Remains’ which was filmed in the parking lot of CoreStates Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 11th November 11 1997. It’s taken from the DVD ‘Banned in Philly’ included within the ReLoad Remastered Deluxe Box Set.
Metallica’s M72 World Tour returns to the UK and Ireland this summer for huge outdoor concerts in Dublin, Glasgow, Cardiff and London.
