Little Angels announce first new music in 32 years
The 'Big Bad & Back' EP
Little Angels will release the ‘Big Bad & Back’ EP on Friday 6th November 2026, the band’s first new material in 32 years.
After announcing the autumn 2026 Big, Bad & Back UK tour in February, Little Angels’ Toby Jepson, Bruce Dickinson, Jim Dickinson, Mark Plunkett and Mark Richardson got together in their hometown of Scarborough to rehearse for their first live shows in 13 years.
It was then that impromptu work started on new music, as the band explain: “This was never in the plan.
“We would never make a new record unless we felt we still had something to say… and it turns out we do. Toby started writing new ideas and while we were rehearsing the set for the tour, we started to jam around this new material, and it just felt great.”
Following the rehearsals in Scarborough, Little Angels recorded the songs at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, and they then enlisted Mike Fraser on mixing duties.
Listen to lead single 'Hero (That Was Then, This Is Now)', as first played on Planet Rock:
Fraser previously mixed Little Angels’ Number 1 album ‘Jam’ at Little Mountain Studios in Vancouver where he also worked on classic records including Bon Jovi’s ‘Slippery When Wet’ and Aerosmith’s ‘Pump’.
“We encouraged him to evoke the spirit of those great records that he mixed back in the day,” Little Angels note.
Commenting on the five-song ‘Big Bad & Back’ EP, Planet Rock’s very own Toby Jepson said: “Lyrically the challenge was always going to be, how do you take what Little Angels represented back then and bring it into the modern world with guys that are now in their mid 50s?
“We discussed what the past meant to us and the penny dropped. This wasn’t about youth anymore, of course not, it’s about reflecting on where we had come from, and the kind of people we are now and all of a sudden, it made sense - this is about returning home.”
Three days after the release of the ‘Big Bad & Back’ EP, Little Angels kick off their reunion tour at Dublin Opium on Monday 9th November and they conclude at London O2 Forum Kentish Town on Sunday 29th November.
