Kris Barras to step away from music after final tour
He's released a statement to fans
Kris Barras has told fans he’s stepping away from music once Kris Barras Band have completed their October 2026 UK tour.
Taking to social media on Monday (14th September), Kris wrote: “After a huge amount of thought, I’ve decided that this next KBB tour will be my last, and I’ll be stepping away from music for the foreseeable future.
“As I close this chapter on my life, I can honestly look back on some of the best times I’ve had. The last 11 years have been an incredible journey, and one I could never have done without the love and support you guys have shown me along the way. I’ll always be grateful for that, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
“I know a lot of you will want to know why I’ve made this decision, and the truth is there isn’t a single reason. It’s a combination of a lot of things. I’ve achieved far more with music than I ever dreamed I would, and at the age of 41, I feel ready for a life with a little more financial security, more time at home with the people I love, and some new challenges.
“I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together, and I’m excited to see what the next chapter of my life brings. But before any of that… we’ve got one last tour to smash.
“One last time.
“Let’s make it f---ing loud.”
Kris Barras formed the eponymous Kris Barras Band in 2015, and over the past 11 years they’ve released six studio albums, including August 2026’s ‘Monsters We Made’.

Kris is also a member of Californian collective Supersonic Blues Machine alongside drummer Kenny Aronoff and producer/bass player Fabrizio Grossi.
They’ve created music with Steve Lukather, Billy Gibbons, Warren Haynes, Walter Trout, Robben Ford, Chris Duarte, Shemekia Copeland, Lucky Peterson, Jonny Lang, and Quinn Sullivan to name but a few.
