The Darkness' Justin Hawkins to release debut solo album in 2027
He's performing some of the material live next month
The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins will release his debut solo album in 2027.
Justin made the revelation in a newly posted video promoting his upcoming solo concert on Saturday 22nd August at The Lodge venue in Corton, Suffolk.
Sitting next to his guitar tech Softy, Justin tells his social media followers: “Hey guys, here I am in the studio of love featuring Margaritaville merchandise and memorabilia.
“I’m here with Softy and we’re just rehearsing for my solo show, which happens on the 22nd of August in my hometown of Lowestoft. On the 23rd, I’ll also be doing some DJing in the same venue and there will be lots of other cool surprises and fun stuff happening.
“It’s going to be a chill old hang, we’re gonna play all of my solo record, which comes out next year, and a few other bits and pieces too. Fun times. Get your tickets for that.”
Justin went on to share details of an online raffle he’s hosting to win the Celine suit he wore for The Darkness’ performance at BST Hyde Park in June 2023.
Back in the noughties, Justin was planning to release a solo record called ‘Panther’, however it never saw the light of day with many of the songs eventually released on his side-project Hot Leg’s ‘Red Light Fever’ album in 2009.
The Darkness performed at Iron Maiden’s EddFest at Knebworth House last weekend, and you can feast your eyes on pics below.
This December, the band embark on The Best of the Darkness UK arena tour with special guests Brothers Osborne and A. Tickets are on sale RIGHT HERE.
