John Corabi says his Dead Daisies exit was 'NOT a mutual decision'

John Corabi has spoken for the first time about his latest exit from The Dead Daisies, and he’s revealed it was in acrimonious circumstances.

Dead Daisies fans were shocked on Wednesday (15th July) when the band issued a short statement read: "It has come to our attention that John Corabi has decided to leave The Dead Daisies.

"We'd like to sincerely thank John for his incredible contribution to the band over the years and wish him nothing but success with his solo career and all his future endeavours."

Under the title ‘Setting the Record Straight’, John Corabi has now issued a statement to Metal Sludge outlining his own version of events and also denying fan speculation he’s joining Quiet Riot.

“So just setting the record straight,” Corabis said. “I’m not joining Quiet Riot. I’m not returning to the Crüe. It was NOT a mutual decision to leave the band I was recently in (The Dead Daisies)

“But I can also state that it’s a NEW opportunity, a NEW chapter, and excuse the pun…. It’s a NEW DAY!!!!!!”

John Corabi previously fronted The Dead Daisies from 2015 to 2019, and he returned for a second stint in May 2023.

Corabi’s departure came a few days after he revealed he wasn’t sure where his future lies with The Dead Daisies after the band performed a one-off show in Chicago back in May with Glenn Hughes.

The Dead Daisies have since announced a second show as The Purple Daisies at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California on Friday 2nd October.

The band’s line-up consists of Glenn Hughes, founding member David Lowy, Doug Aldrich and Tommy Clufetos.

John Corabi’s latest solo album ‘New Day’ was released in April.
