Dave Mustaine says Bruce Dickinson gave him advice and 'hope' during cancer battle

Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine has revealed that Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson gave him vital advice, support and ‘hope’ during his cancer battle.
Dave Mustaine announced he was battling throat cancer in June 2019, and he was given the all-clear in 2020. Bruce Dickinson, of course, beat throat cancer a few years earlier in 2015.
In a new interview with Metal Hammer, Dave said Bruce reached out to him following his diagnosis and gave him some much-needed support.
"Bruce had some fantastic stuff to say as a cancer survivor," Dave said. "There's a big difference between someone saying, 'You're in my thoughts and prayers', versus somebody who goes into detail about his treatment and tells you about the outcome. I needed hope, and he gave me it."
He went to explain that Bruce also advised him to "surround yourself with good people...make sure you're spending time with people who are upbeat and positive."
