Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' returns to UK Top 40 after Ozzy Osbourne's death
It could climb even higher this week

Black Sabbath’s seminal 1970 anthem ‘Paranoid’ has returned to the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 40 in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s death last Tuesday (22nd July) aged 76.
Poignantly, ‘Paranoid’ was the final song Ozzy Osbourne performed with Black Sabbath at their historic Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park just over three weeks ago.
Originally a Number 4 hit in 1970, ‘Paranoid’ returned to the charts last Friday (25th July) at No. 32 following three days of increased streaming following Ozzy Osbourne's passing.
According to the Official Charts Company, ‘Paranoid’ is climbing the chart this week and it’s currently at Number 18.
Five further Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath tracks are in the Top 50 at this early stage of the week – Ozzy’s solo tracks ‘Crazy Train’ (No. 21), ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ (No. 39) and ‘No More Tears’ (No. 47), and Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ (No. 44) and ‘Iron Man’ (No. 44).
Over in the United States, Ozzy Osbourne’s greatest hits compilation ‘The Essential Ozzy Osbourne’ has charted at Number 7, reaching the Top 10 for the first time in its history.
